Brutal Media begins production on a brand new series of The Triplets, the IP that has been a sensation in children's animation for the last 20 years

Barcelona. October 5, 2020 · Catalan production house Brutal Media is heading up production on the new animated children's series about the beloved characters The Triplets. The original classic series, which has been a children's hit for 20 years, has been sold in more than 160 territories and translated into 35 languages.

To create the new adventures and look of the famous siblings, producer Raimon Masllorens (Brutal Media) has brought together a team that combines those responsible for the success of the original Triplets with new multiple award-winning team members with international experience. As such, chief screenswriting will fall to Jordi Gasull, screenwriter and producer of such animated hits as The Adventures of Tadeo Jones (I & II) and Capture the Flag, and the art direction will be supervised by the IP author herself, Roser Capdevila, alongside Marta Capdevila and Helena Batet. The team is rounded out by other top names with broad experience in children's content management and family entertainment.

The new series based on the popular IP is aimed at four to seven year-olds, with a 52 13-minute episode format.

In this new phase, the three troublemaking girls created by illustrator Roser Capdevila have been brought up-to-date living and will experience new adventures for a new generation, once again traveling back into classic tales and discovering characters from history, just as their parents did.

Their recent, broad catalog includes original formats such as This is Opera (Beta Films/TVE) and This is Art (Movistar/TV3, TVE); El Foraster(TV3)-El Paisano (TVE); The Truth Hunter (TVE); Opera in Jeans (TV3); Laia (TV3); Felipe and Letizia (Mediaset) and We'll be Back (TVE, TV3); among other productions.

Raimon Masllorens, CEO at Brutal Media and driving force behind the project, says, "Our enthusiasm and ambition behind the Tripletsrelaunch can only be matched by the respect we have for one of our most successful and internationally-bankable children's creations. Their world and values have transcended the confines of the screen for several generations, and their relevance and potential today is so obvious that revisiting them is proving to be an incredibly rewarding experience."

Along with doses of humor, the underlying theme of each episodi will introduce values such as equality of roles, respect, teamwork, environmentalism, creativity and the importance of reading. What's more, the format for the New Triplets content will offer up other novelties which the creators wish to keep secret for the time being.

Roser Capdevila, creator of the original characters, states, "I'm delighted to be taking on this great challenge of resurrecting the Triplets in this new era of digital transformation and revision of values. The Triplets was inspired by my daughters within the pages of a story and, later, they were featured in many exciting cartoon reiterations. Now, with the team that Brutal Media has brought together, including contributors I trust completely, we'll add a little magic so that the Bored Witch, who was getting very tiresome, can once again harangue Teresa, Anna and Helena in the stories."
